Looks like you're fsb is set at 100Mhz (100 x 12.5 = 1250). Set it to 166Mhz and you should be back to your normal speed.

I would have liked to know how he got on, that's all. When people come asking for help and then never reply after you have given them advice, you get,...... well...., "concerned" about them .

Unhappy Similar problem

I recently upgraded my pc with an epox 8k9a71 motherboard and an amd athlon xp 2800 barton core. The computer works fine with a 100 fsb but shuts down after a few seconds into windows with a 166 fsb. Do I just need to reinstall windows?

Your best choice would be consulting the mobo manual, then the mfgr's website. As far as the CPU ont being read correctly, what speed is your ram? Also, what is your FSB:ram ratio? Last but not least, its better to start a new thread than resurrect one thats been dead over a year.

Clear CMOS, then once you got yourfsb:ram ratio set correctly, and make sure you have everythig seated correctly, just go through regular start-up. BTW, did you upgrade CPU or CPU AND motherboard? Cuz if you upgraded both, once you figure out your BIOS and CPU speed/ram speed, you'll need to either reinstall Windows, or boot in safe mode and install your driver-set.

I can't believe that after nearly a year of OCA selling out to Devshite I am getting E-mails to look at ancient threads, if you need any advice, ask at the forums at www.winhq.net and I will help out there.

Peace,
Gaz.
