Manhattan law firm Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks, which represents most of the music industry’s heavyweights, has kicked dissident rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs to the curb.
“The decision to part ways with Mr. Coombs was made proactively by the partners at the firm several months ago because they felt it was the right thing to do,” a spokesperson for the law firm told Page Six exclusively.
NewsNation reported on Saturday that Lady Gaga has asked the company to either drop Combs — who faces mounting accusations of sexual assault — or she will withdraw.
“The report that the decision was the result of customer pressure is not true,” a company spokesperson claimed to The Post.
The unnamed insider reportedly told NewsNaiton that the “Poker Face” singer “said she was leaving [the firm] “If they don’t give up on Didi.”
But a source who knows the singer told Page Six, “This conversation never happened.”
GSM&S dropped the rapper over the assault allegations, a source told Page Six.
Didi has been a client of the law firm for over 20 years.
He was in a relationship with legendary lawyer Allen Grubman, who was known to have stopped by his Hamptons digs before the Mongols’ fall from grace, the NewsNation report said.
The letter said the company’s biggest fear was that Gaga’s farewell would lead to a race to exit by other bold-faced artists.
Grubman, a co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will become the first practicing attorney to be inducted into the Hall in November 2022.
GSM&S’ past and current clients include Elton John, Barbra Streisand, Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Madonna, U2 and Drake.
Combs has become persona non grata since reports of alleged devious behavior surfaced.
New York City Mayor Adams revoked Combs’s key to New York City, less than three weeks after a shocking video emerged showing the rap mogul beating up his ex-girlfriend, The Washington Post reported earlier.
The key was returned after Adams sent a June 4 letter to Combs, according to Fabian Levy, the mayor’s deputy for communications.
Combs also deleted his Instagram account last week.
