Detroit – The Rattlesnake Club restaurant in Detroit has closed permanently after 36 years in business.
“We are grateful for the support our loyal customers have given us over these many years,” said Mark Tuttle, vice president and chief financial officer, in a statement. “Most importantly, we are grateful for the dedicated service provided by our loyal employees.”
The restaurant first opened in 1988. Tuttle said business was unable to recover after the COVID pandemic.
“Changing patterns in dining habits, office occupancy and traffic have negatively impacted revenue since the COVID pandemic. Special events, which have always been a mainstay of the business, have not recovered,” Tuttle said.
Tuttle said employees were informed of the closure on Saturday, June 29, and were offered severance pay.
“After 36 years, Rattlesnake Club will close permanently on June 28. We are grateful for the support of our loyal customers over these many years. Most of all, we are grateful for the loyal service of our dedicated staff. These seasoned professionals’ focus on producing the best food and outstanding customer service has been responsible for maintaining the restaurant’s reputation throughout the many years since it opened in 1988.
