Last year, when Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released, there were concerns about the game 70 USD Card price. This was followed by Nintendo stating how pricing of its new releases would depend on a “case-by-case basis.” Now, the latest game that seems to be sparking some debate about its pricing is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD.

The price for the upcoming Switch version has been revealed on Nintendo’s official game page, and it has been confirmed that it will cost $60 (or regional equivalent). This has led to some fans questioning Nintendo’s “pricing strategy” after Metroid Prime Remastered was released last year for a cost-only $40. This news also comes after the arrival of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, which has been priced at $100 $60.

To help sell this third edition of Donkey Kong Country Returns, Nintendo has stated that the Switch version will include not only the Wii levels but also the bonus levels from the 3DS game. Sites like DK Vine also highlighted how there were “some minor graphical tweaks” and the water effects received a “dramatic glow” in this high-definition version.

When Donkey Kong Country Returns debuted on the Nintendo Wii in 2010, it was met with acclaim by critics and fans alike. The 3DS version also did a good job of delivering the full package and more with 3D effects, a new mode, and some new stages to discover. This led to the sequel Tropical Freeze being released on the Wii U and back on the Switch.
