Samsung’s One UI Watch 6 beta is now available for the Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 series, going beyond the sole availability for the Watch 6.
The One UI Watch 6 beta brings some changes to health tracking and a bunch of other features. One of the major additions is Galaxy AI coming to Sleep Insights, which should let users get a better overall picture of their nighttime activity. Another change is the ability to use a pinch gesture to select items on the screen outside of the sometimes restricted accessibility mode.
Today, it appears that Samsung is now allowing Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 users to try out the new One UI Watch 6 software version in the US, expanding the availability of the Watch 6. The One UI Watch 6 beta will be available to some people. Watch models 5 and 4, except for some “Special Edition” models.
One of the major issues when the One UI Watch 6 beta was rolled out for the Galaxy Watch 6 was that it was restricted to Bluetooth models only, excluding LTE versions. The new page in the Samsung Members app states that this restriction is still in place. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 LTE models will not be eligible. The page doesn’t specify why this is the case.
Users can find the One UI Watch 6 beta through the Samsung Members app. At the top of the app, a card will announce the trial version. Just click and hit it Join For your watch model. From there, an update will be sent to the Galaxy Wearable app and Galaxy Watch.
This comes just ahead of the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 7 Ultra models at Samsung Unpacked in Paris. When the Galaxy Watch 7 arrives, it will support One UI Watch 6 based on Wear OS out of the box.
