An Illinois Mega Millions player won a $560 million jackpot on Tuesday night, ending a drought that lasted just over three months.

The winning numbers were 19, 37, 40, 63, 69, and the golden mega ball 17.

It was the ninth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

The anonymous individual ticket holder purchased his or her ticket online using the state’s lottery website.

The lucky winner can claim the full $560.0 million or opt for a one-time cash payout of $264.0 million.

Tuesday night’s historic win marked the first time a jackpot-winning ticket has been sold online, whether in Mega Millions, according to the lottery’s website.

This was only the 14th time someone in the Prairie State has won at least a share of the Mega Millions jackpot.

New York holds the record for the number of 43 jackpots won, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”. To the jackpocket.com blog

Illinois state lottery rules allow winners of prizes greater than $250,000 to request that their names be kept confidential and that their municipality of residence be kept confidential when completing the winner claim form.

The late Tuesday night drawing also saw two ticket holders, one each in California and Maryland, win $1 million each for matching the five white balls.

The last time an Illinois player won the Mega Millions jackpot was when an anonymous fund claimed the winning ticket of the $1.337 billion jackpot purchased in Des Plaines on July 29, 2022.

This is the second time the Mega Millions jackpot has exceeded $500 million since last summer.

It is also the first time the jackpot has been won since March 26 when a lucky player from New Jersey purchased a ticket worth $1.13 billion, for a total of 20 drawings between the jackpot winners.

March’s jackpot was the fifth-largest in the game’s history.

The ticket that changed your life was sold at ShopRite Liquor on Route 66 in Neptune Township.

The New Jersey grocery store received an additional $30,000 check for selling the winning ticket.

No winner has come forward to claim their prize, either $1.13 billion in annual installments over 30 years or a one-time lump sum of $537.5 million.

As in Illinois, the New Jersey Lottery allows winners to remain anonymous and prizes can be claimed for up to a year after the drawing.
